Here’s some thoughts, impressions, ranting, fanboyism and such about Touhou arrange music from Reitaisai 5.
ALiCE’S EMOTiON – FANATIC HARDCORE RED LABEL & Cis-Trance – FANATIC HARDCORE BLACK LABEL
A collabortation between ALiCE’S EMOTiON and Cis-Trance. Two albums full of hardcore. Even the cover art is awesome! Easily one of the best, if not the best release from Reitaisai 5.
UI-70 – Riddles covered in flowers
One word: Amazing! This album sticks to being metal while playing around with various styles of metal from trash to acoustic and so on. Like always with all-metal albums, if you’re into metal, go for it. If you’re not into metal, feel free to ignore it.
CROW’SCLAW – CROSSFIRE BARRAGE
As usual, CROW’SCLAW delivers some great heavy metal with their new album. Like with Riddles covered in flowers, liking this album depends on wheter you like metal or not.
Kissing the Mirror × IRON ATTACK! – Scythe for the Guilty Riversides & IRON ATTACK! × Kissing the Mirror – BLADE OF ANCIENT TEMPLE
Another collaboration project. Some of the songs are pretty good, but I’m not too big fan of synth metal. Not quite as good as the two previous metal albums I mentioned.
IOSYS – 東方真華神祭 (touhou makashinsai)
Yawn… I almost fell asleep a couple of times while listening to this. In general, all that moe moe craziness is gone, the songs are mostly a lot slower and softer than before and forget about all the quirky stuff that used to make IOSYS stand out from everyone else. If you like hardcore, listen to Border of extacy, which is pretty damn good with it’s abusive lyrics. Everything else on this album is forgetable. At least I already forgot them.
